| The
Arts Centre Leather Shop is owned and operated by a group of four
friends who got together in the late seventies making leather goods
for a travelling craft show. Their products proved to be popular and
when they were approached by the Arts Centre, they decided to take
premises there. |
| When
the shop first opened in 1985, two styles of sheepskin slippers were
offered for sale as a sideline to the various handcrafted items made
by the partners. Nowadays the shop is twice its original size and
there is an extensive range of sheepskin footwear, from babies'
bootees through to adults' boots. |
| The extensive range of leather goods includes; slippers, wallets, sheep
skins, handbags, handmade belts, Maori chess sets. |
